Ed Sheeran Pulls Off An Intimate Yet Massive Show By the Bay

After not being able to see Ed Sheeran during his Multiply Tour 3 years ago,  I decided to go out and buy myself a concert ticket that my spare money can afford in the very last minute. I'm not the biggest Divide album fan, but his previous works were precious and close to my heart.

Amazing is just an understatement for Ed Sheeran's outdoor show last night. He proved once again to his Manila crowd that he can bring the house down with his mere passion, talent and guitar on his hands. Indeed, Ed Sheeran is just one of the few big names in the music industry that needs no glamorous stints and high-end production just to pull of show.

Ed made his massive outdoor show intimate to an estimated crowd of 25,000 by singing his beautifully-written and guitar dominated radio hit love songs  Photograph, Perfect and Thinking Out Loud. Beautiful voices from the crowd then filled the steamy air of the concert grounds once he strummed the first chords and uttered the lyrics to the ethereal Tenerife Sea. Ed told the crowd that he hasn't performed this song for a long time. He only performs it in outdoor venues. Thank you, Ovation Productions for that! Tenerife Sea is one of my favorite Ed Sheeran songs, so I instantly felt my heart glitch a little when he performed that song.

In my opinion, It's hard for a solo performer without massive concert production to hold the interest of the crowd for a two-hour long show. However, this is what he is known for and best at. I'd have to say that this show is not like any other show that I've been to with regard the reaction of the fans on his performance. Sometimes, they would dance around and scream the lyrics to each songs but most of the time they're just feeling the music. They're just swaying and allowing the music to take them to an ethereal place. I find it amazing, to be honest.

Hence, this show was actually the first show I've seen that actually took me into another realm. I didn't even sing the lyrics to some of his songs even though I know them by heart.  Ed Sheeran just made me feel how beautiful his music is. He's just let me be engulfed by the wave of his passionate performance. It was extremely amazing.  His guitar skill was so out of this world. I can't even find the right words to describe it. The strums and plucks of his strings during I See Fire is one to remember! I've also never seen anyone so passionately make good music out of just thumping the guitar.

I'm so amazed and moved by this performer. Some of us maybe far away from his existence that night but what amazes me is that the people around didn't care about their proximity to Ed. They just cared about the live music. To me, that's what concerts are about. Being close to one of your favorite artist is just an extra; the music is what's important....always.

I'm glad that I didn't miss this amazing night.
