Freedom Child Tour: A Concert for the underdogs and the superheroes

The Script have been to Manila a couple of times now, and heaven knows how much I regret it every time I miss their shows. But finally! FINALLY! I saw one of my favorite bands LIVE! You might find it weird that I say a lot of "one of my favorite bands" here on my blog. If I have a list of my favorite bands; it goes like.. The Maine, All Time Low, The Script. The Jonas Brothers though stay out of the list because they're my everything and nothing will ever replace them in my heart.

I'd have to say that The Script's show is my favorite so far from all the concerts that I've been to this 2018. Their songs are the anthems of my life so it felt SURREAL finally hearing them live. Indeed, Freedom Child Tour was for all of the underdogs screaming under their pillows for a change, for the broken hearts who keep on mending themselves, for the hopefuls, the believers, the superheroes, and most especially THE CHAMPIONS.

I've been to a number of concerts on my own before but this show didn't make me feel like I was alone. As I can remember, the three people next to me were solo concert goers as well!!!! Mabuhay ang mga solo concert goers! It was a bit awkward though when Danny asked us to put our arms around the shoulders of the person next to us during No Man Is Island.

I'm lost for words with this. The entirety of it was truly overwhelming. I've never seen a band as interactive on shows as The Script were! During Paint the Town Green, Danny rocked out at the VIP section as though their concert was just a house party. It was so cool because they're not much into exclusivity. They really want their fans to be involved in their music. They wanted us to feel like they're one of us; that they're just actual human beings and not a famous band.

My favorite part though was when the band walked their way to the patron section at the back. They didn't hide at all! They didn't walk behind barriers! They walked straight through the crowd! They even performed two songs at the middle of the patron section. I also loved it when Danny said that they used to watch concerts at the back and that they just wanted to give back to those people watching at that section during that night! I was also shocked when he walked straight through the lower box section while performing The Energy Never Dies. I wanted to run straight to him but people were already crowding him.

Indeed, Freedom Child Tour is the best 2018 show.... so far! I was literally sobbing when they started singing Superheroes!!! Finally, after being a fan of their music for years, I heard and witnessed them perform LIVE. I'm shocked thought that it didn't flood in MOA Arena that night when they performed If You Could See Me Now (iykwim).

Here's to hoping to see them again soon. My heart is still so full because of them.
